Management Team Helps Community Collect Assessments, Plan for Future

This gated community is nestled in a rural part of McCurtain County, Oklahoma. With a commercial area that includes shopping and dining, this homeowners’ association (HOA) consists of 580 residential properties—beautiful, resort-style cabins for weekend stays.

Challenge:

Even though an HOA had been established, developers of the community had not started collecting assessments. Because the community’s previous management company was online-based, it was difficult for the association to properly manage assessments, invoicing, and collections.

Resolution:

Neighborhood Services Corporation, An Associa® Company, partnered with this community in 2021. The Neighborhood Services Corporation management team worked with the developers to organize ownership details, begin proper invoicing, and create open lines of communication with homeowners. Management helped the association operate more effectively and plan for future improvements. It helped instill a special assessments for road repairs, and today, collections have totaled almost $500,000 to go toward community enhancement projects.
